Good thing there's no minimum weight for the GT class, that looks really light. Very impressive, though. What motor and diff did you wind up putting in it?

Nice chassis by the way! See you on the podium, only you might be looking up to see me!!! JK.

Default My 911 Project

Hi,
I built the Porsche 911 on a FG carbon fiber chassis and the Evo 7 running gear. The work is still in progress but I have manage to get some very competitive lap times out of the car. The biggest reason for going to the car is the Corvette run on the longer chassis. With the short chassis, I save about 1 pound of weight on the car. The minimum weight for the car is the same as the STC cars.

Once I put the chassis back together, I will post the pics of it also.

Thanks to Mr Vette09, I was able to put together this car. Brian found me a nice home made (CNC machine) short wheelsbase chassis, similar to the comp chassis. I need to order a couple of parts to finish her up!!!!

When you say you are using EVO 07 running gear are you including the EVO 07 arms too??? I was not able to use the EVO 04 arms as they are too wide and the wheels will stick out of the wheels wells. I had to use the old Comp car arms, since they have turnbuckles that way I can adjust the track width, specially in the rear since i am using the offset deep wheels...

I really don't know what's up with flames on RC paint cars???? When was the last time there were flames on a full scale race car????
hey, if you like it that is all it matters....

I took all the parts off of the Evo 7 and put them on the short chassis. I use the standard wheel and tires used on the STC class. The tires I like are the new style GRP A and C tires. Depending on temp.

As for the flames, I have had them on all my street and race car for as long as I remember. Take a look at the Grand American, American Lemans, NASCAR and NHRA. Many cars have flames on them. But if you want to talk about Porsches, I have several friends that have them on street cars. And I will be putting them on my Porsche 944 Turbo.

I am using a 23cc "stock" Zenoha engine sponsored by Mr. Vette09,
and I decided to use the Visc Diff.

As far as the Flames on race cars, I wouldn't be surpriced if they exist on NASCAR, since NASCAR is for wooses...hey, I just noticed that the NASCAR rainbow colors are the same colors on the homosexueal rainbow, go figure!!!!!! , just kiding!!!!! I just cannot stand NASCAR.

On a different note,
Please, do me a favor and don't distroy that beautifull 944 you have, and leave it the way it is..., leave that frame crap to the 1/10 and 1/8 croud...

Are you coming to 301 Raceway this coming season??? If you bring your Porsche with you, we might have a small Porsche Cup!!!!
I have shown my 911 to a couple of freinds here, and now they all want one!!! Yes, could you imagine a 1/5 scale Porsche Cup !!! Awesome!!!!

I have allways liked flame street or race. I plan to put on ghost flames similar to the BMW in the picture on the 944.

If the ROAR Nationals are back out to 301, I will try to come out. It is a long trip. I was out there in 2006 for the Nationals. I took 4th in GT.

Here are some pics of the chassis. If you notice, I have Mugura II hydraulic brakes on the car.

How do you like the carbon chassis??
does the car tend to roll on high traction??? I presume that by having the light weight carbon chassis the center of gravity is much higher than with the alloy chassis.

Luis, the carbon chassis does not change the CG very much. The Evo7 engine is mounted lower in the chassis. The carbon chassis is not as stiff as I would like (and I have stiffening rail on it). The thing that changes the CG is the body. It weighs much more than a light weight FG or Killiam body. The Porsche GT3 body is better but still needs to be lighter.

At the ROAR Nationals, three classes are run. Super Touring, GT and F1. See the rule book for specific information. I run the GT class because STC cars are not real road race cars. Just a car to take the kids to the store.
