Default 1/5 scale Tire difference between PMT Kronos and Fenice ???

I have been looking for the differences on these two tires and I cannot find it. By some pics that I saw online, I noticed that the Fenice tire seems a little narrower than the Kronos, is this true?, are these tires (Fenice) supposed to be used on the front axle???
I want to know what is the main differences or what is each tire main purpose, which one is supposed to be used on front axles or can both be used all around.

I know that you can fiscally put them anywhere, but I am refereeing to where are they most effective, which one has more grip, softer, etc, etc.
Thanks

The Fenice change the tire game big-time back in 98/99 and was such a jump from the standard FG and PMT slicks. The Ellegis back then were great for permanent track racers but were only good for a couple races and didnt hook on street/parking lot tracks.

I believe the PMT Kronos came out 2001/02 and were a step up from the Fenice. They had more rubber with a higher sidewall, were very durable, came mounted, warmed up quickly, were great for both dusty surfaces or hi-grip tracks and could withstand the increase torque and improved speeds of the latest cars and powerplants.

I think the Kronos are the most versatile as they're great for both permanent tracks and parking lots/dustier surfaces. I still have supply of Kronos that I use for practising at a school nearby, but would switch to Ellegi's if I ever had to go to a track like 301.

The Fenice is 10yr old tire technology and shouldn't hold a candle to the Kronos if you had a choice. If you already have some lying around, I'm sure they'd be great front tires but if you have to buy tires I would get Kronos first.

If it's for racing at 301 I would just go to Ellegi A's or the new C' compound for high grip/heat surfaces. They all cost the same (PMT vs Ellegi) so why not go with the best and latest technology?

Eric Poholsky did a tire comparison study last year and PMT also has the Eclipse which is comparable to an Ellegi in high grip settings. They just take a bit of time to warm up (if you dont have tire warmers). They also have the Icaro line which Eric found the best for low grip/ lowtemperature settings compared to the Eclipse and Ellegi A. I have a set of soft compound Icaros (10 Compound) and found them to be good on a dusty parking lot.

The Eclipse and Icaro are two PMT tires that came after the Kronos so they should be even better.

Hope this helps,

Hugh
