North East Latemodel Oval Racing Series.

I'm looking for anyone in the North East that would like to start a Oval racing series with Latemodel bodies. for the 2009 season. Northeast meaning CT,MA,NH,VT,and ME. This would be a 10 race series to run at a few different tracks in the Northeast. mainly running ovals a simple roadcourse wouldn't be bad. with touring cars.

The rules would be simple to keep the cost of racing down

1. You may use either a shaft drive or belt drive electric touring car.

2. You may only use the McAllister #228 ASA Latemodel body. NO CUTTING OUT THE REAR OF BODY. Numbers on Roof and doors.

3. The only motor allowed would be the 21d turn Venom Fireball motor. NO modifications allowed. except to replace original brushes.

4. your max size battery would be a 3600mah 6 cell 7.2v Nimh pack. No pro packs.

5. Foam wheels will be the only wheels allowed you may use a traction glue If running carpet. Rubber slicks or street tread tires on blacktop.

These races can be run at places where there is AMB timing and scoring. My asphault track would rely on Lap counters and a timing person. Unless I can find a USED AMB timing system over the winter.

Ok I've also got an option if electric is not the way to go but this way really brings the cars closer and to keep the cost down.
A nitro touring car

1. The exceed nitro touring car RTR sold by nitrorcx would be the only Touring car chassis allowed they sell for around $155.00 + shipping. Motor will be left box stock.

2. Rubber slicks or street tire allowed

3. Fuel would be all the same.

4. Bodies again McAllister #228 ASA Latemodel body for short tracks and the HPI Stocker body for big tracks. again NO cutting out the rear of car. Spoiler height on the HPI body would be checked between 3/4" -1" height no taller no shorter. numbers on doors and roof.

5. Your replacement motor must be bought through NitroRCX and left box stock.

6. you may use 2.4 Ghz radio systems.

This way the cars are close and it leaves it to set up and drivers ability to race not to how much money can I dump into this car to win. Both experienced and beginers can do this.

I don't live anywhere close enough to do that, but it's a cool idea. I wish more r/c racing would try to mimic local short track racing rather than national stuff. Also, TC oval is a lot of fun.

BTW, you'd get a better response on Hobbytalk. Their oval section is where most oval racers hang out; not many come over here.

Ok here is what I'm doing I've got some people interested in a series. I have a small oval to start. what I'm looking at doing is finding other people that would like to race in other parts of the North East as well. If not I can set my track up as two different tracks. Let me know if there is interest in doing a series for the 2009 season. Thanx.

I'll help bump you up by sharing my ASA LM. I ran on a small carpet oval in a Stock Pan car class. Since then the track has closed but I'm hanging on to the car in hopes that something opens up. I am currently running TC's on a dirt oval and I'm loving it.

THE Oval series will be on hold until further notice. due to two things one not enough interest and two the track location is on hold due to a change in mgmt. at the factory where the track is located. until these two things change this will be in a holding pattern. Once I can get back going I will have new divisions with rules in place and a schedule sorry for any incovience this mat have caused anyone willing to race this season. the offroad will still go on as planned just at another track thanks..

No you are not the only oval track left in NH!

We are running 1/8 nitro European Stock cars. These are open wheel, spec rules, steel chassis, and really fast and fun!
