Default New to 1/5 scale...have many questions...

I'm thinking about getting a 1/5 scale FG or HARM.... I've been offered a good deal on a car, but I want to know what to stay awayfrom, and what is good and is not good. I do not intend to race this car, but I do want to use it as a parking lot toy to run around.

I want a car that is able to drift, will the D-Box work in this car?

What are the best made tires, and tires to stay away from.

Cooling holes in the car.......I've read the Roar book, but wanted to know if anybody had a pic.

what is a good engine and pipe?

thank you for this round of information...I'm sure as I learn, I will have more...

first ? is whats your use? i take it your speaking OnRoad Sedans?

are you going to be racing? or just lot running? or both?

how much you looking to spend?

as far as motors go, Zens have the best quality out of the typical RC motors. what you run will depend on if you race or not. Sanctioned events dictate a 26cc motor (or maybe its a 23cc) so you may be limited on motor size/mods if your racing ROAR type events. but the Zens are far better than the CYs where motors are concerned.

hey! so ya, the d-box will work well for drifting. as far as tires. ive been running krono's #20's with decant traction and great wear. lower #'s for better traction but less life. obviously. for drifting your gona want to get setup with front caliper brakes. as far as motors go, zenoh's are priced right. ias far as tires to stay away from, ive only used the krono's. so cant help you on that. my choice of pipe would be the samba 3 tune, but its gona set you back about $300. cooling holes are of choice. i found the best resoults with trimming out the rear so that air can leave as most air will come in from the bottom. i only have the side windows cut so they look half opened
