Default 1/18th scale oval, how big?

If you were to build a 1/18th scale dirt oval to race the Losi sliders, etc on, how would you build it, and what size? Flat? Banked? other? Thanks.

Check out these pics. I have been to this track a couple of times and it seems perfect for 1/18 vehicles. Losi sliders run very fast lap times. One of my friends said he was able to drive the whole thing "almost" wide open. They also run 1/10 vehicles on there also but in my mind it is a "tiny" bit too small for 1/10. But check it out. They have a forum too so you can register and ask question. The owner is on the forum everyday.

Thanks for the link. I would have never thought looking at the pics that would be too small for 1/10th scale.

Well, the thing is it's not too small. It's barely big enough. I'll put it that way. I shouldn't have said it too small for 1/10. IDK. I'm used to dirt tracks that have 180' or larger drive lines. From what the guys say they have to gear down a bit for that Enid track. But I havent' raced anything on it. I've only watched the 1/18 Sliders and Associated 18's run on it. And it really looked perfect for them.

Wow - that track looks almost the same size as the very first track I raced on back in the mid 80's.

Very nice looking track - and it looks PERFECT for 1/18th scale.

I believe so too, just from watching. I don't have a 1/18 to race. So I've only watched two times. From what I hear there is good turnouts for the sliders and then also for the 4wd 1/18 LM like the 18t or Duratrax Vendetta. Also I've heard that the surface has cooking oil mixed in. But I'm not sure what that does. It either holds the surface together for a smooth surface or loosens the surface to keep the cars from traction rolling. IDK. Or it might remain high bite without having to water it all the time.
