Default 5th Scale 2008 ROAR Nats at Route 106??

Just checking in to confirm if this is true. Looks like a beautiful track and location. Has a proposed date been set yet?

Where is the closest international airport? 3-4 of us in Toronto would like to start travel plans so we can attend!

All the best,

Hugh

Whoa, whoa, whoa, where did you hear that?

Yes, there has been contact with someone about the 1/5 nats at 106, but that's it. No other plans have been discussed.

106 Racepark is an amazing track, and would be a great place for the 1/5 cars, but I think they're more into karts and mini motards now.

The track is close to Concord, New Hampshire.

Stay tuned.

It's still just a rumor, believe me I'm hoping it's at 106 as it's 8 hours from me...

They can't do anything until they get the go kart schedule...

I'd love to see the 1/5 Nats 2 hours from my house.

Though I don't run onroad, the track looks super nice. I just wish the offroad track was a bit better.

Ok so 106 hosting the race is just a rumour. Any other contenders to host the race? Can get 30+ attendees if it is marketed properly and people are given enough time to plan their vacations.

Things have been a little shaky in the past, but the 5th scale community has matured and we have a good core group that are excited about getting together for a big race.

What about doing it in Baltimore (301 Raceway) again? That track was sweet and everyone had a blast. Can a track host the NATS again after two years?

Spring is cutting it close for finalizing a summer NAT's race. Tick, tick, tick....

Honestly it doesn't look good for the 5th scale Nat's this year... 301 is doing the 8th and I can't see them having to go through everything to hold 2 National events...

The 5th scale group has come a long way in the last few years and it's probably because of the entry level cars out there now...

I need to know soon if and where it's going to be... If I'm going to have to fly, plane tickets need to be bought NOW...

Default Bad news

It doesn't look like we will be able to get 106 to host any RC racing this year. Apparently there's a new owner who's concentrating on the karts.

Welp, looks like there's going to be no 5th scale Nationals this year... Not many tracks capable of handling the cars....

I wouldn't say that.....i know it been a while since something has been said but i got some undercurrent information about the 1/5 national but we may have to travel back to other corner of the US. Stay tune for coming updates from the real official.....keep hope alive.

5th scale nats are open to bid. Any track that runs 1/8th can handle 1/5th.

Plenty of time left in 08 to have a national.

what about the track in Cincinatti?
i chatted with the owner last summer about a possible 1/5th class. at the time he said they didnt have any plans to run a 1/5th class, but if there was plenty of interest they would consider it for a permanant thing.

he also mentioned they were Previously a host to the 1/5th Nats. in 2000 or 02 i think he said it was.

Just a thought.

We organized a race there w/ John Schwitzer back in '02 called the East Coast Shootout. 27 guys came out for 5th scale. I wouldn't mind going there again.
