Any recommendations on whether it is preferable to use a "buggy" or "truggy" motor?

I am unsure of the difference (s).

Thanks!

The buggy motor is smaller, and lighter.
I can not comment if maybe a truggy motor might run cooler.

Serpent 977e has to be the best car I have ever had the opportunity to build. Superb. Beats my old motonica RS3 electron hands down.

What about that: http://www.buri-racer.at/

If you have a very flat track, I think it could go as fast as Serpent top chassis... for the half of the price!

Are you driving on a prepared race track or is there dirt and dust being kicked up? With foam tires, you need to be on a prepares racing surface to be able to use any brakes. That having been said, you could have a setup issue where the suspension isn't correctly aligned. If your car is using a front oneway, it only has rear brakes which will make it more prone to spinning out under braking. Tweak, geometry and droop all need to be properly set.

Does anyone have an idea where to find the Speedpassion brushless conversion for the Serpent 960?

If you don't have clean bearings, good transmission and a perfect car, trust me when I say this...someone else does.

-Bought this exactly second hand....

What do i need to make my Capricon c801 brushless on the chassis?

That 2 speed spurs is bugging me.... i think i need to lock one spur and make it one way?
CNC machined single speed One Way adaptor , can i use one from other brands, like serpent?

What part number should i been looking? Thanks!
http://www.capricornrc.com/capricorn...d_category=218
-That single speed flange... will fit the nitro version with only one spur from the nitro?

Apart from the motor mount and batery trays... what else?

Thanks!

On this video there is a pin on the shaft... minute 1,31"...
+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

I think i do not have that on my Capricorn... but that pin makes sense for a hub sit in there and make the shaft spin foward or reversed... my is a one way bearing thing...

What am i missing?

This is the eletric version:

-My only thing buggin me...is that shaft...The spur is she secured with what?

Download the manual for the electric car from Capricorn. It should have all the parts you need to convert.

Hi mates,
there were some elektro 1/8 car on a clubrace in Austria last weekend and that made me crazy 1/8E fan (again).
At the past I checked the 1/8E options each year and till now I stopped the project cause the TTB seems to the be ultimate solution but it’s price beyond my budget. Even I would just race with 1/8E 2-3 times in a year only.
Since I have some used Velox V8 and E8 TTB conversion set is available from Shepherd, the car is defined now.

After some google exercise I found the ESC and battery budget line successor of TTB, however I failed with the motor – its so unique…

So, is anyone tried a motor below $250€?

thanks for and info
Peter

sorry, haven't been in this thread for a while.

The speed passion conversion set?, just don't.
It will work for exactly 3 laps, and then burst out in flames. not enough power. Maybe for parking lot bashing, and beginners, but not if you want to attack those corners!
