Well guys, last few weeks, i've been busy...
Here you have a link to a Dutch forum, just scroll through the thread and the pictures will tell the story (warning, use good internet connection)
http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...%3D-950re.html

3 youtube's were made:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNb2ZSMchm8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f30iBuujrRY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VJlxDlMRJw

But in the end, the ESC didn't survive, probably due to electrical breaking.
Next thing will be to reinstall the (modified) break disk, but I first have to create some room for that.....
I think about a 1st gear 50T spur and a 21T or 22T pinion.

I used that on my off road but it never burnt. Usually it's the motor that burnt if over geared.

Wat was the temp of the esc?

45C...
Motor was 90C.
It's not a matter of temp, but the amount of current or actually power which needs to be dissipated under breaking is huge....
On-road has A LOT more traction then off-road, so it's a lot heavier for the ESC....

We blew our share of stuff up as we have been developing our E-Mugen... need to match the battery Cell's to the KV rating of the motor... we found a sweet spot with 6s and 1500kv to 1700kv...

Also the biggest improvement in attempt to stop the exploding Speedo's was the installation of (3) 35v 1500pf Capacitors... cured all of the regenitive energy, and what Randy Pike explained as "ripple current"

also running 48/24 on the gearing

We now have 5 cars converted and countless packs through them with great success. We have a big race next weekend where we will be running them with the gas cars....

Please do, and come back with your results!

I'm also trying to contact HW, to see if I can get some kind of warranty on the ESC.....

Had our local club race last weekend with (5) of our E-Mugen Conversions... man they all worked perfectly, with the exception of a couple blow outs because of the board tracks... but Andy set the overall TQ by 3 seconds with the E-car over the 8th gas cars.......

He did have to make a quick pit stop in gas, but the Timezone E-Mugens are the real deal......
