It is sensored by the look of the sensor hanging off the back of the motor.
What kV motor are you using?

Sorry, I didn't notice that it was connected to the sensor. The controller looks like a MMM from the top. My bad...

Steve - How thick are those graphite battery plates? Considering that its only held onto the chassis with two screws looks like there may be potential for breakage when you get contact with other cars on the track. I was also skeptical about the durability of the Motonica side plates until I saw that it was made out of spring steel.

Does anyone here remember the RC250 club car? Would that not be a great platform for 2wd 1/8 electric? Low cost, maybe even 1/10 pancar tires. Of course people being as they are an electric version of the 500 would not be far behind. C'mon Associated, time to put some new/old blood on the track. Electrics can race anywhere.

Also, most club events have only 5 min qualifiiers with 15min or 20min mains. If the battery can last 10min perhaps maybe you can consider designing the battery compartment such that it can open up top like the E4JS or drop out of the bottom like the E4FS/RS. A quick connection for the battery that would disconnect upon battery removal and reconnect upon battery installation would need to be fashioned. I think an RX battery would be best such that the radio would not unbind during battery changes.

Although the battery change may take longer than a nitro fill-up, the added speed of the electric could make-up for the time lost. It would be nice to see how an electric will run against a nitro in a 20min main event or even in a 30min main event.
Well, I intend to run with the nitros at the 2 day California Series race at RAMS on June 4-5. With my setup, I can do a battery swap in about 10-15 seconds, tops. Regardless of which main the car ends up in, I won't do nearly the number of pit stops at the nitros!

I'll bring our to the Rams race also... at least try it in a qualifier.. we are now working on some top deck options with more and less flex.

However, I like Yodog's design better because of the simpified design of using one centralized battery.
I totally agree, I like the centralized battery too. The Motonica I looked at on the web site is a pan car chassis with no shocks and 2wd. The battery sits in front of the roll bar bulk head where the tank normally would be.

A pod car would probably hook up easier although you don't have the option of adjusting toe or camber.

I just wanted to throw some options out there.

I don't know about that I just ran my MRX2e over the weekend at the Montonica GP race and I was turning same lap time as the nitro guys and this is the first time I had it out on the track. Give me a little more time with some set up and right gearing I can be competitive with the nitro guys. Also it so much fun to drive, I try it with 6s and it was insane fast, but I only qualify with 4s.

I think were talking about different things. Someone started talking about going with a pan car as in RC10L type. I have no doubt your converted car is competitive. Several other guys have been running converted Kyosho Evolvas and later model Mugens.
