Hey you in cybersville - you are more than welcome to bring your LiPo dogs to give us a run for the gold - I'm sure the Timezone gang would be thrilled to have you - heck If you have a converted (to run on-road) eOff-Road, or eIGT bring it - run it good time to share ideas....

Rich, I got the shocks put on last night and I've revised the parts list to finish her up. I'll email it to you later today.
I fully intend to run the car at Timezone!
Maybe you might want to pick up a spare battery for the car.
It's an SMC 5440 and Stormer usually stocks them. Let's see how they work at the next RAMS race, then we can decide if it's the bomb.

We should be able to assemble a new pack for the eM3 with a couple of packs that meet the size requirements.
What's the max dimensions for the compartment?
I'll try to research some options.
Chat atcha later...

Rich,
I just picked up a CRC gen-x10 to play around with.
I'll throw in a fast motor and big Lipo and see what it will do on our big track.
I will bring it down at the next race also.

I have two 40C Thunder Power 5000/14.8. We'll use those - deal?

We can run that against Scott's TOP Photon - The Photon is KO Controlled, Orion 4.5 with Thunder Power 40 C, 7.4/3800. It's still set-up from the last Reedy Race, well, the radio is working now - unlike during the race (exponentials were cranked the wrong way - it was an on/off switch). I don't know how Kimbrow even got the car around the track like that. The guy is flat amazing when he drives any car. Freaky, Pin Ball Wizard Stuff. Should be interesting.

If I had a mechanic that could make my clutch and motor work,,,,
I bet I would be right there with him. Last time I went to Fla. I wasn't impressed . More disappointed I couldn't make my drive line work. Finicky P.O.S..

Yeah ... I didn't use the quote thingy.
And yes my nitro car.... clutch and motor.
I usually do well in Enduros but never seemed to have any snap.
Which is why I cant wait for a MAINSTREAM 4wd Brushless on road racer.
Now that I have my chosen motor and speedo....
just waiting for someone to fill in the gap.

Oh and Rich.
Sorry I don't think that came out right at all.
Lets just say I believe if you set up my drive line in Florida I would have done a lot better.
That was a while back and I think Ralph Burch and Scott Kimbro were there as well.

Here is my 2nd brushless conversion of a Kyosho Evolva 2005 that I just completed. This time, instead of the 2 speed setup, I went for the single speed direct drive. The hard case, 4S battery pack (I call it the "Tower of POWER"!) sits centered on the chassis between the front pulley and the rear chassis brace. Swapping the battery is a "drop in" proceedure (without the body on, of course) and takes no time at all. Notice that I am now using a large capacitor with the Mamba Monster to help offset voltage drop when the motor pulls high amps (180+!). It also helps smooth out more of any ripple current coming off the packs. I'm running the Castle Neu 2650 kv along with a Novak 40mm fan on the motor. The custom carbon fiber top plate completely surrounds the battery securing it in place and offers additional protection in addition to the hard pack.

Gearing as pictured was 22/48 with plenty of top end speed! For my first setup, I ran 18/48 for a total runtime of a bit over 7 minutes with still a bit left in the packs. The packs are 6000 mAh. I didn't time the run with the 22/48 gearing. With a bit taller gearing top speed is probably in the range of 65-70 mph, however I don't know what temps and run time this gearing would yield.

While this car won't ever be as fast as my 6S 2 speed setup, it definitely handles better and is a simpler setup. One thing I noticed after logging data with the 2 speed car is that every time the car was shifting on the track, there was an amp spike and corresponding decrease of RPM...resulting in a bit of delay on the back straight. This was never an issue with doing all out speed runs, but on the track it was a different story. I finally had to have it shift almost immediately into 2nd to avoid the amp spikes upon shifting. This improved the performance out of the packs.
