does adding the supplied wing extention to the protoform peugeot help downforce or just add tons of drag? anybody run it really or just leave it off?

I run a spoiler extension on my P-35. I made it adjustable through slots in it like on a 1/8th scale nitro body.
I found it does add drag, but not too much. At least for modified racing.
If the traction on the track comes up I'll lower it (less extending), or take it of completely.
If you need the downforce I think it does beat running a mega-downforce body like the Serpent Porsche often seen around here, in my eyes.

If you try it, make sure you open the slot under the rear wing first, otherwise the car will take off on any small bump on the straight!

There is lots of room in the car! The chassis is more narrow than the C10X but doesn't have the chassis stiffener cutting out space toward the front. The version that I tried was carbon fibre and one could assume the same dimensions with the graphite version. On that note, they were to be finished production this week and shipped shortly thereafter. The much awaited new front axles and the longer front arm mounting screws are also supposed to be ready this week or early next week so let's keep our fingers crossed for an end-Jan arrival date!

i have a qu. for everone on here, are local track is having a debate. the qu. is should 4 cell stock run with 4 cell brushless. is there a big differance between the two or is it close. so far brushless has not won by being faster just by luck that the leader crashed. the man that wins week to week runs brushed motors. he has a mag zapper , dyno and has been building motors for years and years. prob since the 80s. from what i have seen so far is that the brushless is faster for the ave racer, not for someone who knows what there doing. i know setup is a big key in pan class but i have taken that in consideration. any info will help.

It would depend on the brushless motor, size of the track and the infield. Both have advantages and yes there are times when a well tuned brushed motor may have the advantage. Also for some people (me included) the brushed motor has a better feel. BUT, for the average person who does not tune motors for other racers, the brushless is almost a no brainer, and yes I have been tuning motors for over 20 years.

Oh and on a side note, the web name has been earned with full size car motors as well as RC motors.

thanks for the info, the racer with the brushless is running the xbr 13.5 bonded rotor. we called novak and they clamed that the 13.5 bonded rotor was no faster than a 27 turn motor. they did say that the sinered rotor 13.5 was faster. a 17.5 sinered rotor was the same as a 27 turn. one guy at are track is clamming thats bs .
