[quote=MarkA]You will need to get a 15t pinion to maintain a ratio close to where you're at. QUOTE]

I will buy a 15t pinion, put it on and hope for the best. Hopefully there isn't too much strain on the motor. I'll let you know how I go!

Thanks again MarkA for your time and responses! Paul

Assuming the same tires are used:
86/16 = 5.375
80/15 = 5.333

A negligible difference on the motor and car.

Man I wish I could have brought my pan car out here to Denver but I went through this once before and the airline temperarly lost my stuff. I thought I was gonna have a heart attack.

Jason you thought it was cold in Asheville well you should come up here! lol It's suppose to snow 6-12 inches tonight and tomorrow and when I went up to Mount Rushmore there was a good 5 or so inches of snow on the ground there.

It should be even more fun now that you have a wide car, and acourding to USPS I have a new brushless esc sitting at home waiting to be put in my pan car. Hey, lets see some pics of that thing anyway!

i'm on vacation and of coarse i first had to fix my mother in law's computer and she is on dial up to boot so this will be brief.. some shots of my new powell wide conversion... don't mind the mess as my spare time was absorbed by the little ones that my wife insisted on bringing.. kidding.. the electronics were pulled from the old car not even unsoldered and just dropped in as-was..

eric, it snowed saturday the day before easter in asheville and places just north got as much as 5 inches.. weird this time of year.. anyhow we got to get the guys together and start the season, i am totally amped about this new ride and my F1 body still fits so i can still run that class down in easley..

is the older JR NES 7005 any good for these wider pan cars? or too heavy/slow?

I know it's no answer to your question, but I bought a pan car on ebay a while back and it had a 7005 on it, my daughter (7yro) drove it on the road course for several months. I kept the servo and got a gear set for it, but haven't used it myself.

J,
If the outer ring of holes has 12 holes, put balls in all 12. You diff will be smoother and require less tension on the diff nut.

Yeah.
If there are 12, use 12. If there are 8, use 8. Leave the inside holes empty.

Thanks for the props. We like to build awesome.

A little AE silicone grease is all you need on the balls. A pair of Kimbrough gear covers will help keep out dirt and grit if you are running outdoors.
