Originally posted by trackdesigner71 ok guys, with the exception of 19T GT1, ROAR rules will apply. But I must emphasize, this is NOT a ROAR sanctioned event. Everything, qualifying, tech, etc. (concourse too) will be run using ROAR rules. 19T GT1 wil still use the approved body list noted earlier. There are no limits on tires. I am still working on establishing a good date for this race to take place. Id like for it to be in April (or maybe in May before the Reedy Race). I am looking for suggestions for this race becasue I want this to be all about you guys, the racers, so lets hear all you guys have to say about what could help make this race a success.

Just hold off on a specific date until ROAR releases their schedule and then move your race 3 weeks before or after. Or set it to say, last weekend in February.
That or I’ve always thought a big race on say, the second weekend in December would do fine – no competition anywhere in the U.S. as that’s the deadest month for big races and a lot of people find themselves with “use it or lose it” vacation time they have to burn. S.A. has a low chance of rain that time and the temps are roughly the same as what we see racing outdoors at Rev. that time of year so it’s doable. Airfares, gas, and hotels should be cheaper that time of year also.
was wondering if any of you guys would be interested in this stuff

car is in nice condition.mylar tape was always used to protect chassis from scatches.all you need is a battery pack. dedicating my time to 1/12 so the 1/10 has to go.

Ya know Mark, I was rooting through my old PMs and I saw one from Ron Meloni and it had a link to this very interesting sort of festival that they have in San Antonio every year: http://www.fiesta-sa.org/ do you think we could have it sometime during that next year?

With events at that such as, "Gilding The Lily: Women’s Fashion In Ancient Greece And Rome", and, "Miss Margaret’s Victorian House Tour" and the, "Fiesta Mariachi Mass", I don't really think many RC racers would care. That and the rest of their events sound like an average day in here in LA.

So I really would not schedule around it.
Point noted Mark. I still like the third or fourth weekend in April though
Sounds pretty ridiculous, I know. However, Fiesta is really a wicked week-long drunkfest full of great food, music, and of course BEER. The only events worth mentioning are Oyster Bake, Taste of New Orleans, Krawfish Festival, and of course NIOSA (Thursday night is "College Night"). The only downside would be getting a room during those days. It seems EVERY hotel/motel room in this town is booked long in advance in prep for Fiesta.
