Default Brushless Question - Sensorless ESC with Sensored Motor

Anyone try sensorless speedo with sensored motor? I havent seen anyone try a castle creations speedo with the novak motors yet. It would be interesting to see if there were any gains or not. The reason I ask is because before I go buying a sensored esc that can only be used with sensored motors I would rather buy one that can do all motors and gain a little power/configurability.

They aren't interchangable you can only run sensorless with sensorless controllers and the same for sensored...

That is not true. You can't run a sensorless motor with a sensored esc but you can run a sensorless esc with either a sensored or a sensorless motor.

Almost got it.
You can run a sensored with some sensorless controllers but a sensored controller can only run a sensored motor (wow thats a lot of sensors )

-a Sensored controller will ONLY run a sensored motor (eg. Novak,LRP)
-a sensorless controller will run either sensored or sensorless (eg. Tekin,GM ect)

So in response to your question a Novak is Sensored and will NOT run a sensorless motor.

Thats exactly what I said! And that is not the answer to my question. My question was has anyone tried using a SENSORLESS ESC with the novak MOTORS.

Sorry I must have read your first post a hundred times and read can not can't.
My appologies .
I have seen a video of a sensorless ESC running a novak brushless and it looked good. On the Mamba thread they said they are working on a software update so it can run sensored motors.

I have never heard of the company at all but the pic and video shows a sensorless ESC running a sensored motor.
