Default Bolink Legends

Anyone here racing Legends currently? A new local track by me will be running them, and I am thinking about getting one. With Bolink back up and running, is the class going to boost again?? Lets use this thread as an "unofficial Legend tread"

We're racing Legends at His and Hers Hobbies in Kenosha, WI. Tonight will be the 6th race of our 26-week Legends series. We started out with 9 cars the first night, and by week 5 we had 18 entries. There are more guys interested in running this class, too. It's definitely turned out to be the hot oval class at our track.

Here's a pic of my green Chevy and my dad's maroon Chevy.

We are working on getting several new series just for legends going. I've got dates now all I've got to talk with is the sponsors ( with the track sites). I'm changing the rules to what most of the hobby shops carry. Here are my changes:
1] Batteries- 4 cell either 3800's or 4200's. It's to hard to get the spec packs all the time.Since 3800's are just laying around we now have something they can use.Since IB were the cells, that's the brand we are using. They can be hardwired or any connector.
2] Motors- The trinity monster stock with bolink gearing 21/22x81 only. Any brushes and springs.
3] Tied rods can be changed to normal linkage.
4] Tires are open since they only have greens from Bolink.
5] Classes: juniors/women----Racer-----Pro----- Masters(50 and older)
Difference between Racer and Pro is Ball bearing for the front wheels and rear axle. Masters can run in Racer or Pro or even Masters but will be scored seperately.
We will have a warm-up series and a Big series running with a traveling in the city car show that I do.

Very cool. It's good that you tweak the rules to keep it easier and probably even cheaper yet. Like you said the spec packs are getting a little harder to get, so allowing different cells is better, and still keeps everyone even. Have fun with your series.

What are most people using for tires (i.e. BSR, Jaco) and compound for Legends racing? Thanks

We are going with any type of compound tires. There is no way to regulate the tires since Bolink does not offer anything but greens.

Great news from Bolink- Spec tires are coming real soon. They will be BSR tires with the bands. So our series will start using them as soon as they are available- Probably in Febuary.

From what I remember 1/10th pan wheels fit fine. If im wrong someone please correct me. It has been a few years since I had a legends or allstar sprinter. Very fun cars.
