I race at Summit Raceway in Fort Wayne IN; Legends, Sprint Car, and NASTRUCK (touring car on rubber tires). I also run 1/18th on Left Turn Raceway; Mini-Slider, Mini-Late Model, and Vendetta.

Sounds like the Phoenix track is building Legend class fast. It is all good.

I was just playing on our local road course with my Legend last winter. It would be a blast. Very simple and cheap way to have a fun class.

i saw the website just now, 110bux for a legend, no wonder they've never really come all the way back. just robbery right there. it would be ideal to see 10 of them at a time back on a dirt oval near you this winter. oh well.

$110 for a Legend seems very reasonable. A pan car is going to run you at least $200+ and if you hit anything you can kiss the front end or chassis good bye. Hit something with a Legend and you bounce off and keep going.

Racing cost is much lower, fun factor much higher. I know the "high end" guys look down on Legends at some locations. At our track we have more Legends (usually 3 heats) than any other class. Everyone respects everyone else. A great place to race and have fun.

RJ Speed has released a 3 piece axle plate to allow more simple tuning of the front end.

So.... what are people doing to tune the front end with these parts?

Seems like they hook up better with -2 degrees camber on the front right. But i had to get that with a small piece of lexan under half the kingpin nut to angle it.

Anyone try something similar with this new front end?

Although it's new on the market it was never released from Bolink. This is a great tuning idea for the Legends. After all the guy that did it is RJ .

For you Southern Legends racers, keep your eye out for an announcement for a big race event for Legends and SK's in 2010

Pejota, I'll think you'll like this....LOL

www.lefthander-rc.com

or

www.windtunnelracingproducts.com

BSR makes a couple of different spec compounds.

I've been told, and purchased, blue fronts, green rears. Seems like they'll hold up well outdoors on asphalt.

Although, it would be nice if Legends racing would allow the WGT Lilac spec tires as well. I've heard nothing but good things about those tires for both oval and onroad.

Old electronics everywhere..

Lots of Cyclone ESCs, and newer GTXs at the local track.

Standard servos usually mounted to the bottom of the center chassis, and micro servos on the front steering plates.

Watch Ebay for deals on used Legends, just picked up a couple cars for under 75$ RTR.

I use a Spektrum receiver in my Legends with a Novak GTS. I like the servo on top of the battery tray but per the rules, it supposed to be under the tray or on top of the axle plate. I guess it depends on how tight the tech is at your track.

My suggestion, use sticky-sided tape AND zip ties. I saw a few servos come loose this weekend.

Legends 3-piece axle kit

So i installed the kit per the instructions which state that you can install the arms above, under or over/under the axle plate.

I opted of the over/under option, placing the right arm under the plate and the left arm over the plate to jack some weight around and try to get more weight on the left rear. BINGO! According to my scales i achieved that mission.

Does it help cornering? Yes i think so. But i still had some issues this past weekend with my front end bouncing around too much instead of actually absorbing the bumps. Granted, it's a Legends front end and not a Pro-Strut front end... but holy crap it looked more like an old Grasshopper barreling around a backyard instead of a Legends Oval car.

It really does not make any difference where you mount the front servo.Just try to make the wire as straight as possible.
And for the guy looking for a bolink car what type?I've got a California flyer ( no pictures available) and when my new car arrives the last 200mm car Bolink made. It's got three shocks in the rear and 5 battery slots per side. The only pictures of this car is on the www.fseara.com site under pictures at the kissimmee track this year.
I've also got some new in the bag parts for various different cars. Oh I forgot I've got one of the lat 1/12th cars built and sitting on the shelf.
