Some obvious thoughts:
A) This portable media player (first available to purchase new November 2004) is older than Windows Vista but newer than Windows XP. So it might not be compatible with any currently supported operating system.
B) The battery might be dead after sitting unused over 4 years. Replacements are $30.
C) Would probably be a good idea to edit your first post in this thread so it doesn't look like this item is only 6 months old to Joe Blow who doesn't know any better.
I feel your pain, seller. I have a first gen Slacker portable that is now a useless brick.
