Does anybody know anything about this engine?

Sirio based. Very fast engine but I've seen them be quite unreliable. The.21 is better than the.12 though.

I am really more concerned about the .21but the information about the .12 is useful as well....
$400 & unreliable ? Can you please tell me what makes this $400 engine unreliable ?

It doesn't hold tune very well and is difficult to tune in the first place. I've run one and to be honest the Novarossi Virtus or PICCO EMX-WC engines are better and hold tune better than the XRD. I've seen quite a few go pop here last season.

Originally I was looking at the OS. 21 XZ-R SPEED & .21 XZ-R VII ..... What's out there that's faster than these engines yet hold the tune well and is also easy to tune ?

It's fast but depends on gear ratio, the engine likes the higher ratio to release the torque.
but the workmanship is poor, the engine nut thread got damaged easily.
The leakage on cuberator is terrible.

You would think to expect a better product especially for the price that they're asking

Well I have the Hyper 21(8 port) that pushes 2.5 Hp @38,000 Tom's ...... The Picco pushes 2.90 Hp @ 37,500 Rpm's ...... Aren't theses engines basically the same ? I'm shure that picco comes with a nice healthy price tag to boot ....... if I'm going to spend money like that I'm going to need something that would melt the tires or take me into light speed you know.......

I am pretty sure the Hyper is far off from the Picco. Paper specs do not worth a thing....

As I do reed your posts I would say to get a RB Classico or RB Speed. Good and fast enough engine for a very good price.

No where near the same. Like comparing apples with oranges! Similar shape totally different inside

I'd agree with Roelof...

I've heard that before as far as reading the specs and paper wise goes...... Well, what am I suppose to go by when shopping for a new engine ? Okay here's the situationI'm looking to get into the GT class of racing ...... I not to long ago went motor shoppin and got caught up in the advertisement game.... I was the big one that didn't get away, they got me and they got me good boy was I hooked !!!! I wasn't even reading specs then.....I will say this though, it taught me a lesson it taught me a lesson on gearing..... I will say this I am glad for that though...... I don't want to pay $ 300 plus for a engine and someone comes along and puts the spank, spank on me with a $150.00 engine..... For I was that person not too long ago.... I am looking for a on road engine that's faster than my Hyper 21 8 port ..... that's where I'm setting the bar.... I be a lot of competition competition engines with this engine(in a MONSTER TRUCK with stock gearing 12/62)this is where I'm at with this .....
