If these are Nova plugs and you are running on a long track, there's your problem. Novas just aren't what they used to be. Try a Nova ultra 8, GRP 7 (gen II max, old Ninja's) or my favorite if you can find then, Sirio 7's.

If this motor has over a gallon on it and still the original rod, it may be time for a new rod.

If there is any pitting on the top of the piston and bottom of the head, add a shim.

Hey

I'd like to find out some info on this xxl3 engine. What novarossi engine is it based off of. Does it run good on a nova 2652 pipe with a 41616 header? What is the temperature range for racing. Also what's the best glowplugs to use and the #.

Thanks.

Get the 2660. Is it much better than 2652? better mileage and similar power band.

4.5 turns on top and 2.5 turns on the low speed needle should get you started

Hi Drew,

congratulations for the win (or your participation in it). Which pipe do you usually use with XXL3? Nova 2664, Max2649, another? Have you noticed any difference in power or consumption among them?

Thanks,
Carlos
