Default Novarossi Vir-Tus .12 vs ISON .12

I am looking to replace my long serving multiple trophy winning Novarossi .12 I bought in 2001 with a new engine.

I think I am down to the Vir-Tus .12 vs ISON .12

The specs look similar with the Vir-Tus looking to be the better engine (better crank, better con rod, etc.) but I have not seen claimed power numbers for the Vir-Tus. I thought I saw the ISON showing 1.56 claimed HP but please correct me if I am wrong on that - and again I've seen nothing on the Vir-Tus.

I know claimed HP isn't really that big a deal ( I am not using all of the HP my old Nova produces on most tracks) but its just nice to know.

What other differences are there and what should I keep in mind looking at them?

Thanks!

I would strongly reccomend a Murnan Modified Motor. Either the Keep On or the Virtus with the Virtus being the top dawg with the most power.

You're not comparing apples with apples. The ison is a completely different engine and is not aimed at competition, it's part of novarossi's basic line and it is just that basic - no balanced crank etc etc. The Virtus is incredibly powerful and add Murnan magic and it's insane. Go with the virtus over the ison any day of the week.

Hi dan, just wondering do have a Virtus or have you just seen one in action.
If you own one, how doe's it fair compared to what you used to run??

Cheers Darren

Yep. I have a standard one as well as a Murnan keep on. Both are about the same. I've always ran novarossi's .21 and .12 so had a fair few of the virtus predecessors and the virtus is incredible, the fuel mileage is good too. I will be ordering a Murnan version and that must be just insane.
