I am pretty sure this is no winner. Maybe a nice cheap club motor for short tracks, to waiste in a rain race or to test the modding skilz but nothing more.

+1 here. I personally wouldn't touch one with a 10ft pole. As the saying goes "You get what you paid for."

Yeah, but in many cases that is not true... Like the electronics for 1/10scale are $40 and the work way better than tekins $200 rs pro...

Well I have a tekin rs pro and never had an issue with it, and I know a guy from my old club who bought a turnigy trackstar esc and motor combo for his short course truck and had nothing but trouble with it.

Did he update it? When you get them they recommended that you update it, because it would put it on Orion software. It does not come with it, because they we told the are not able to sell it with that software. (There deal with Orion). The only reason i asked about this engine was in case it was a stolen Orion design.

Oh yeah he updated it alright. He threw it out and put an ORCA esc in it and hasn't looked back since!

Well that is all I run and will be running. Except in my Stadium Truck I got a great deal on a Orca and an Orion 10.5 combo. Only $170

Do you think Orca Esc's can handle off-road? I was told not, but I also heard it can. I drove one will it for a like 5 minutes and it was beast.

ORCA do make an esc specific to off road. here is a link to a local hobby shop I get stuff from here in Australia.

The one is the combo is small blue 1/10 on road one. Do you think it will handle it.

If this is the one you're talking about, I can't see why it couldn't handle it.

http://www.orcarc.com/en/products.asp

5.5t limit is more than enough as most off road mod class racers run a 7.5t motor.
