engine break-in bench
anyone use a break in bench? is it better than break in with a car?

I believe it puts much less stress on the engine.

I've done it both with and without the bench and had long lasting engines. The bench is nice in that it's a much more controlled environment in that you can manage the temp easily. Another nice thing is that you're not wearing out tires or parts on your car. |
Yup some clarifications would help.
I too have used the bench during my last break in for my JP and i can tell you it's working real fine. Very conveninent, saves on time, tires, etc and most importantly under a controlled environment for the engine. |
Novarossi wants you to use a bench and prop to break in their engines. Yes Virginia, even the car engines.

Guys whats a breakin Bench?
|
A break in bench is a bench were you would secure your engine to break it in or just to work on an engine. As opposed to doing the work on the engine while it is still installed in the car itself. That way you don't have to run the entire car, saving on clutch wear, tyre wear & any other parts that may suffer from excesive use.
