Default Caburator

Hi

Have one of these fantastic engines , but have a problem with the reds caburator , it leaks a lot. And its very difficult to adjust. Have heard that people change to nova caburator.

Any ideas , maybe setting it back to factory setting if anyone know.

The carb doesnt really leak, the moisture comes from the raw vapor in the venturi when the engine is being ran. depending on how rich you run, it builds up in the lip of the filter and slowly leaks down onto the body. Never tried a nova carb, but I really haven't seen a need for it. My question for you is if your having tuning problems, what percentage Nitro, whats the combustion chamber set at, how are you geared, and whats your clutch set up? The motors make a ton of power so they are extremely clutch sensitive. Try starting flush on the top end and about a turn out from flush on the low end. Also make sure your getting full throttle out of your servo because even if the carb window is open to the eye, on this motor u still have about a 1/4 more to go on the epa. Basically set it so that you cant pull the slide out any further by hand...

Run a Nova Carby, "ALL" your problems solved right there.

Hi Jim,

You normally add 0.1m shim if you go up from 16%-25%, so if you are running 20% then you are on the safe side with 0.1m. It also goes vice versa.

Niko

I will check mine and revert, but as I remember my WCS has 0.3-0.35mm head shims and 0.1mm under sleeve. My old M3T which has awesome bottom power has no shim under sleeve.

Niko

Yes they have the Reds WCS Red Edition out.

We are busy running them in at the moment.

I am sure 2015 will see another wcs black head, but dont think there will be changes to internals.

One gallon is too soon, 2 gallons is still safe..

In on road we have run over 11 gallons on wcs .21 with one rod change and original bearings. Not advice to follow, but we have just seen these motors go and go and go, eventually just not bothered if it blows since you running the same engine for two years.
