They are not chrome, it's just polished aluminum. It doesn't hurt the finish.

However, the first time I tried this method, I used 50/50 premix. The pipe actually turned black. But I really like it, it looks like black chrome

Not all pipes work best with every engine out there.

What engine and track type is this pipe most suited for?

BTW, there was no mention whether this is a .12 or .21 pipe.

It's the 2660 from Novarossi but then coated with the KEL850 treatment.
So basically it should work pretty good with all Nova based engines.
Maybe with others as well but this should be tested.
