Default Nitro powered weed eater motor.

Has any one set up and run a weed eater motor on Nitro for an extended period of time with reliability? At what A/F ratio does Nitro burn the best. If I am not mitaken a gasoline engine runs best at 14:1. Any help would be great.

I already have done that on my one an only weedeater. It did not like it to well. Only because the carb is tuned for straight 2 cycle gas. it ran really well at only one throttle position. I am just trying to figure out whether of not I need to richen or lean the carb.

the only ideas I have is try it richer and try it leaner. IF those dont work ad some straight gas to the nitro fuel you are using.

I believe methanol/alcohol it more rich in oxygen so I would say you would need to richen it up some. I know when we ran go karts with the Briggs motors(years ago) we would need to run bigger jets providing a richer mixture.

My plans are to hop up one of those mini motorcycles on Nitro or one of those little scooters. That would be sweet I think.

When you raced with these motor's did you ever spin out, And have the motor fire up in reverse.

Default Ran my weedeater on nitro!

Ran mine on 20% blue thunder nitro fuel! works pretty well , gives it a tonnnnn more power. just realllly need to richen the mixture, it doesnt need as much air to burn as the gas does. i can cut really tall grass and it doesnt hardly bogg down at all any more and its only like a 26cc engine. cheap troy bilt, id never put it in my stihl though haha.
