.12 side exhuast & manifold

do they still make engines with a side exhuast?

i have a fw05, and looking at a engine with a side exhuast?

other option is to run rear exhuast, but then ill need one of those 'U' shaped manifold (like off-road) for .12 engine?

does anyone know where i can get a 'U' shaped manifold for .12?

Do you have a picture of the layout? It seems like perhaps the engine is mounted like on off-road where the spur gear and clutch bell point toward the front of the car and the flywheel is sideways?

correct, the shaft to pointing towards the front.

i found a 'U' shape manifold, but costs $54 :|

as for side port .12, the only one i cant seem to find anything that is still being made today.

how will a top-end engine run with a 'U' shape manifold?

i found a .12 U shape manifold laying around, but it doesnt have any attachments to attach to tuned pipes

-looks like this http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31631146MJL.jpg

it attachs to the pipe via a rubber coupling, and tuned pipes have that massive ring around the attachment which the rubber coupling cant fit over.

You'd need a pipe that is simply tapered at the end and it attaches to that manifold with a rubber tubing and some zip ties. Not like the usual springs and rubber ring.

yeah i have a tapered kyosho pipe and a U shaped manifold, wonder how it will run on other engines.

how bout i just f*n bolt on a .30 wankel rotary sideways. that would have a side exhaust wouldnt it?

you never know until you try it how a pipe will perform with a given engine.

yes i saw that, but i want one with a circle exhaust port so i can mount the standard manifolds to it.

Something like this?

There aren't any and beside that, I do not think you will find a manifold for it.

yep.

i just found that u can get a adaptor to run the round manifolds.

other option is to run normal rear exhuast engines and use a OS 'u' shape manifold.. which costs like 50$.
