Incorrect. Xray sells two different pipe wires, one short and one long, the spring turn is reversed from each other. you need either the short or long pipe wire for the particular header and pipe combo you choose to use. The 2649 fits perfectly using the correct pipe hanger.

the spring has nothing to do with the pipe touching the wheel. Actually the long wire xray is offering has to do with mounting the exhaust a little further outside, this is good for new pipes with a small fat stinger. I know that because i use it on my 720.

Get the 2660 with short header. This is the one to use. Don't get 2630.

A number of us have been running the MAx Power 2649 for a couple of seasons with no fit issues, and the two different springs move the pipe back or forward. If need be I can post a pic of my remaining NT1 with the Max 2649 pipe and header set installed I'm going to sell, since I'm moving to 1/8 scale.
