Last OPS I had was about 15yrs ago. Then they dropped away badly with power compared to the Rex and Top engines of the time. But I have heard the latest run of 21 engines are fairly good.

Its weird looking at the name now. Should really be changed since Picco has his own engines now.

Obviously you have never had a OPS .21 before. I have a few of them and will buy more new one's once i get the one's i have to wear out.

I have over 9 gallon's on one of my old OPS .21's and it run's just as strong as it did at 3 gallon's... there bullet proof if you properly maintain them and i would put them up against any of the current crop of novarossi/rb/werks/picco/ or any of the japan or tawain stuff out there.

They have been around since before any of the other company's were producing motor. that should say somthing about them

Is OPS still manufacturing engines ?

My first on-road engine was the Pro Corsa EV93 which I thought then was the fastest thing around, until the Novarossi 2000 range came out which literally redefined power in the early 90's.

OPS got an Engine called something like Speed or so.
Its the latest one and it got good Power. In Italy OPS is often used in the Classic Races with good results. How I know, OPS is distributed by mantuamodels in Italy.

For the 1/8th Race Car for serious competition you have to choose other brands. OPS how it seems is not interested to enter this sector.

OPS was leader till the 90ties. Than Novarossi take the lead till now on.

The OPS 93 was a very bad engine distributed by BMT at the Time. A lot of issues with Material and Power. I remember the european cahmpionship in pescara Italy where a lot of BMT Drivers retired from the race because of bad material from the car and the BMT OPS engines.

The best OPS engines was the OPS Pro in the 80ties and the Super Pro as well the Mondial Brand from Serpent.

Very fast engines at this time.

Yes, though only some offroad motors find their way to the states. I hear good things about the OPS built Radical offroad motors.

They have done a terrible job on the Mantua-site and you need to search in many ways or go through thousands of articles...
That combined with prices that make you grasp for air makes you wonder if they intend to sell anything...

But here are some of their Track and Rally(GT) engines;

Some of their engines in a catalog: http://www.mantuamodelhelp.com/Artic...ArticleId=1694

I hope that helps!

(There is an old joke what OPS stands for. As the "P" is initial for late (G.)Picco, they say OPS stands for Obsolete Picco Spares )

I thought it was Old Peice of S*** LOL. I own two OPS 621Ts and a Fantom 06 FR21, which was a rebranded OPS 621T.

I know the OPS is populair and winning with the Stockcar races although a Dutch engine is makng the OPS team drivers very nervous

And indeed Mantua is promoting their engines with their classic car but no real competive onroad engine.
