Default fuel leak from engine

How common is it for an engine to have a leak at the front bearing over the 4 years I have had more than my fair share of this happening.Could it be incorrect break in procedure there are so many ways of breaking in the engine I dont know whats right anymore. When you get a new engine I was told to take it all part does this mean the bearings come out as well. That is the only thing I dont do when I get a new engine and is the only thing I could thing of that would be the problem ........help

Bearing failure is common in nitro engines due to the extreme temps and grime they are exposed to. I'm not referring to total failure, but seal failure.

The worst part is diagnosing the problem. It can first seem like the carb is flaky, causing you to change the tune and losing a good setup.

I would not suggest removing the bearings when doing an initial tear down. Regular maintenece should include cleaning them by removing the seals and using a spray cleaner to clear old lube and dirt. Then use a quality bearing lube and reseal them. Be careful when reseating them into the block that you use equal pressure all the way around the outter race to avoid binding that may damage the bearing.

Just to buy a front bearing with Double Contact Rubber Seals from bocabearings.com. It will solve your problem. You don't need to take away one side rubber seal. It will make sure no any leaking.
