If you want to use a bearing from a local bearing shop be sure you get a bearing with a plastic cage holding the balls, with a metal cage the lifespan is short and there is a chance of a stuck bearing.

im planning to use other than os bearing in front. my rear is in good shape. if i use bearing with the plastic cage, would it melt at high temperature?
#4
If you are using a bearing from another engine it is no problen (if it is the same size).
And no, the plastic cage will not melt (probably it teflon)

new front bearing, here i come

One question, is it necessary to remove the backside of the plastic cage when installing the front bearing? (leave it open so we can see the inside bearing ball)
#7
Do NOT remove the cage.
Some bearings have rubber seals on both sides. Most people take the inside seal out but you can leave it in if you want.
