Default Identifying models

Hello all,

I recently won an auction on a MTX3 which came with a Nova motor and that's all the seller knew about it.

Is there anyway I can identify it? It looks like it might need a new bearing and I'd also like to have a spare piston and sleeve but I’m taking the assumption that I need to know the model..

Is there any markings or ways I can try to identify what motor I have? Some local track racers say that it was the stock motor that came with the Mugen kit. I’m seriously lost here.

Any help would be well appreciated. Thanks!

Rudy

thanks! I know having just one pic is kinda hard to really identify what it is but in the case of piston and sleve purchasing if I get any of the .12 motor p/s replacement kits could I go wrong?

That is the MT12 that came with the Mugen MST1 stadium truck. That MT12 has the large cooling head. The header came with the kit too.

I have a "new" TOP Novarossi TN12S1 engine, I believe it was manufactured in 2002. The specs on the engine look like a current model, except it has a standard head. The description says this is a great off-road engine. If I replace the head with a turbo head will it then be a great on-road engine? Are there differences in the timing that I will notice if I put this in an on-road car?
