Hi

Does the STS D3R PL set fit in a Novarossi NSR? Its about a third of the price

What about the D3R compared to the NSRS3?

Cheers

Ziggy,
Sorry,I'm not very sure. I have long time without playing Nova engine. You may need to have some modifying. The fixing pin is on the different place.
D3R is a economical racing engine. It is economical but doesn't mean it is slow. There are only a few engine manufactories dare to show you the internal parts on the website.
Regards,
Dino

Hi Dino

Thanks for that. The bore and stroke is the same so It might fit. The fixing pin is no problem as I can dremmel another slot in the liner.

What about the port timing? Is is the same?

If it is I will try one in my NSR. The nova one is 3 times the price and just a bit less expensive than a new engine!!

Cheers

No! Because the exhaust high of D3R sleeve is just 4.5mm....

So different timing but it will fit if I put a lot in the liner for the fixing pin right?

Cheers

I would suggest you to sell your engine cheap to newbie and go to buy a new engine. Because sometime to rebuild a engine is not economical. The crankpin and bearings may going to be worn out. Only if you have problem when break in,otherwise I would not suggest people to rebuild a engine. Just buy a new one and run it,after 2 gallons then sell to newbie with half price. That is the most economical way.....

I think your right. I always run them too long and now have ended up with a pile in the corner.

One thing i find is with the microcast pistons its only the piston that wears out not the liner. If you could just buy the piston it would be better.

Yes...then all engine manufactories will close soon.....

Well,in fact we are selling the piston to customer only! Regarding that sleeve is just a free gift. It is used to protect the piston. J/K...
