shes a D5R, now is there a "12cc" cast into the side of the crank case or is it flat (with maybe the logo stuck on)
http://www.stsrc.com.tw/engines/Dragon.files/D12.JPG

Seems the flat ones are the later version (dino ?)

I saw some online shop starting carrying the team version. How does it compare with OS TZ 5ports or NovaRossi LL5? thx.

It's comparable. You must take the time and break it in properly. STS seems to take longer than the other engines to break in and once it's broken it it screams and lasts for a long time.

Team Version is as fast as JP. For club race the stock engine is enough. On width track you can feel its different. Jeff robbed my first team engine v1. that is ok. it is old already...hehehe...

Should be D5R v1. Now we are selling the V2 with upgraded crankcase.(better anti-leaking)

I'll second that. Take your time, break it in - the instructions are detailed on this. Once you do have the engine broken in it will last for a long time

As Hesky said - the heat gun is your friend (well, hair dryer for me) I always use'em when breaking in engines.

Yes they are. The part number is for the Team Edition STS 1024. The description also matches STS DX12.

I just emailed rc-toro. Jean at rc-toro told me that they do have Team Edition STS 1024, and it is STS DX 12. They just don't have time to take a pic.

I am currently running OS TZ 5 ports. It is very tempting to get a STS Team Edition after so many positive comments. Can anyone who have one commenting on the engine? thx.

I have one and I will tell you this thing is as fast as any engine out there. I raced it last Saturday and it was as fast or faster than everyone else on the track. I could run 6 miuntes with each tank and it came back at the end of 20 minute race at 255F idling normally.
