Default Crankshaft bearings or? Help.

Dear all,

I'm finishing my new car and face an issue I can't figure out.

Before I fit the clutch, I can turn the crankshaft resistance free until compression kicks in.

After installation of centax type clutch, there is resistance when I turn the crankshaft.

I can't really figure out what is wrong, bearing are lubed etc.

I took the flywheel of and tried a shim before the cone, same issue, the cone match the inner part of front bearing perfectly too.

I am also almost sure the crank has been pushed all the way in, it is very very tight, but believe I got it all the way.

Please help out, I can't remember if this is normal or something is wrong.

Thanks in advance

Most of the time the engine bearings are not inserted correctly. If you have a bearing tool just use it to push the bearings further in the crankhouse or otherwise heat the crankhouse to push them further.

If you did change the main bearing be sure it is faced in the right way.

what engine and is it new? Did you replace the bearings? Sounds like the rear bearing isn't seated correctly

I had a os tz in my mtx4 and I didn't have to shim the cone. Sounds like maybe a manufacturing defect. Possibly the factory didn't get the bearing seated all the way? Don't know.

Thanks guys, you were all right

The front bearing was not seated properly, I don't have a bearing installer, so gave it a little tap with a hammer and works great.

Next thing for the toolbax, engine bearing tools

Thanks
