Default O rings on needles

hi,
just wana check are there any ways to replace the O rings on the LSN n HSN needles without tearing/fraying of the O rings?

i've just replaced mine and it's TIGHT. after i fully closed it and backed out to the desired settings, the O rings deformed and frayed...

any suggestions?
