Default Picco p9evo, mega zx12 ds2 any difference

Looking over both of these motors as my first/practice 1/8 motor.

Appears they are both made by Picco.

They are about the same price. The mega is slightly cheaper in the combo pack with 2033 pipe than buying the p9 and pipe seperately.

Any experience or opinions on differences in performance fuel mileage durability etc.

Thanks

Jamie

Yes the 2 motors are the same, you also get a deal when buying the PICCO P9 and the pipe set together at the same time, and these motors are not only practice motors, these are actually full blown race motors that are capable of winning races, don't let the price confuse you, the reason behind the low price is because PICCO/MEGA is doing a good job keeping the price to within the budget of an average racer. for short you don't have to spend more than $500.00 on an engine to be competitive in RC racing.

Novarossi fans will disagree on that...

Novarossi fans will have to realize, the the huge price decrease of Nova engines this year is mainly forced upon them by the success of the other engine brands out there, mainly Picco.

Or did you think NR lowered their prices to be nice to us?

Picco can make fast engines but throuh the years they were not the ones with a long life. Beside that, Novarossi became WC in 2007 so they have the position to keep the prices high.

Regarding the market, it is crazy that Novarossi engines in Asian countries as also in some southern Europian countries are muche cheaper than in the Netherlands and arround it, it seems some people are filling their pockets....

Novarossi engines prices here in the states have done nothing but go up! Wish we had a price decrease here too.

Please ask a person living in these Asian country what they earn each month.....
The Euro is very strong, we here in Holland make good money, so everything is priced that way....

Go on holiday in... lets say... Poland, everything is much cheaper there.....

They can disagree all they want, but PICCO is really doing a good job keeping their price down.

At the Canadian Winter Nationals ( Offroad) Picco was by far the most popular engine in the house... The Jammin JPX line especially..... in buggy and truggy class over half the entries were running Picco based engines..... Picco also took home the TQ and A-Main of both buggy and Truggy...... I am not surprised Picco is becoming so popular, the current engines are strong/reliable/ and affordable...... The Jammin line of Picco's are huge here in Canada with excellent support offered by Team Jammin...
