You can run it without the shim... Your port timing will change, cant recall reading if it will be the same as the EVO 3 i think... Gotta wait for the Port Timing gurus to come here and explain...

You can run it without the shim but you need to add the same thickness of head shims. This will indeed make the timing the same as the stock evo 3.

I'd really like to see a dyno of shimmed, and removed shim motor. See how much difference there really is.

What's wrong with the old shim? It's really just a spacer so unless it's in pieces it should still do the job. If it is useless just run it without but make sure you add the same thickness of head shim.

There is an RB engine, either a .28 or bigger which has the same bore than the outer diameter of our .12 sleeves. You can buy a couple of these shims and dremel off the outside whats too much.

On the other hand, our JLR advocate Kamikaze shouldn't have the slightest problem to get you plenty of these shims from his friends at Ofna who are best friends with Alberto Picco, so it seems.

It is a solid ring ,,,, with a notch for the pin. But if it is broke, it will not affect the performance any. just make sure it sets in place properly.

Hello!
I want to buy the JLR EVO3 Tuned.
Perhaps 2...!

But I have some questions:
Where can I buy spare parts and how much are these?
And has someone larger Pictures of piston/sleeve (porting!!!) etc.?

What are the experiences with this engine over a longer time? (5-10 liters...)
What is the difference with this engine:

IDM P1-R.12 EVO 3 Modified

Thank you for your answers!!

Regards,

Michael from Germany
