Default GRP .12 Stock and Tuned review

Hello from France,

New brand, new engine, new review, thanks to all factories that trust me..

And now my first review in english (sorry for my english but you ask me to make my reviews in english, so I try....)

Three years ago, GRP, the leader in RC tyres industry, decide to come in the engine business.

After numerous success with their different commercial brands, GRP comes on the engine scene with their own name

The line is composed with the Sport version (stock low price engine), and the Tuned version (MRT = Mario Rossi Tuned).

You can get the engine alone or in a Promokit (engine + FLS exhaust + commercial accessories). Pricing is quite good.

The more visible difference between Sport line and Tuned Line version is the heatsink color.
Polished alu for Sport line and Orange anodized for Tuned line.

The Sport line receive a black case.
4 dust caps are provided.
The case is light and the reinforcments give very good stifness.
Too bad, no milling above the rear bearing.
The exhaust port is well worked.
There is an O-ring in the case.
The front bearing is rubber sealed an GRP branded!!!

For pricing, you have to ask your national distributor.
In Europe, all engines are available.

The sleeve is a 3 ports with a large exhaust port.

The piston have two oil rings, and the skirt is lightened.
A big regret because the conrod is squared....I thought come twenty years back...

The carter cap is machined in aluminium.

The heatsink is also machined in aluminium, and deception, the glowplug is standart and there's no insert...It's a monobloc haetsink..

The carb is in aluminium and there's an insulator to prevent vapor lock.

The crankshaft is very simple with a little turbo scope.

And now, let's have a look inside the Tuned.

The crankcase seem to be the same, but some little differences in machining make the case slight different.

Jeeez, that's one crappy made cheap engine. Shouldn't cost more than 100 bucks....

P.O.S. Nice crank, killer head button/heat sink one piece must save weight. Apparently all previous aerodynamic theory's regarding leading and trailing edges have been disproved by the "brick shaped" con rod.

the specs and price may be good but its just not of the same quality of a nova
