Hi,
Anyone try the sts d12ex? I have a d3r and i like it, but i was wondering how the d12ex compared to it.

Thanks

Hi,
Unfortunately i can't answer that as no one runs those engines where i race. I can tell you that the d3r can keep up with a mega zx12, rb v12 as those are what most guys race at the track. I have a g4s and i had to add 1 tooth on each pinion as the d3r is an engine with torque but not high revs.

One guy where i race runs the d12x and it's very fast. I've been seeing the d12ex and the price is dirt cheap. Just wondering what it can do.

I didn't use a D12EX but AI told us in this forum that EX is a econo engine with outlaw spec

D12EX is a 3 port Turbo headed econo engine with the D5R carb.

I asked the question direct to sts and this is the e-mail reply i received.

''in fact the D12EX is a non-modified D3R.''

perfect engine for someone who wants to try their own modifications
