The way to tell is to look at the timing in the crankshaft. There will be modification to the crankshaft timing intake window on the modified version. The sleeve is also not modified on the tuned, only on the modified version. Look for the teardrop cuts on the transfer ports on the modified version. The tuned has a stock looking sleeve.

Raced my new RBM3 over the weekend. So far, this motor is excellent, typically reliability of a Murnan (and RB) motor!
Only have about 1.5 litres through it, it broke it nicely, raced at Moorebank (large, open 1/8th type track) where run time is usually an issue. Motor ran nice and cool and was making about 5:20min on a tank (I have owned MM 353s, Capricorns, Sirios etc which struggled to make run time with my driving, so this is great considering the motor is not yet fully broken in). Ran it with a 2652 pipe.
Motor is still tight (about 80-90% broken in), but so far I would easily compare it with my MM353, so its full potential should show at the next couple of race days.
Michael.

I would like to thank Uriah for the awesome horsepower and runtime from the RBM3. I was able to take the win at the 1/10 scale Mid Atlantic Touring Car Championship in Richmond, Va this past weekend. I ran the M3 combined with the 2601 pipe and Nova medium header and got 5:45 runtime with the engine coming off the track after the 30 minute main at 265 degrees. Thanks again for the incredible power, run time, and reliability. GO MURNAN!

@Grinder: Any thoughts?
@Uriah,
how would you compare a Nova S21WCS09 against a 35+21? The little Nova carries an attractive price tag
2nd question: Would you personally rather pick a MM Cordoba or a MM 35+21? The price is the same and after your mods power output should be the same as well. Should I choose just by cooling head color or are their any other important differences?
Many thanks and best regards,
Stefan

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't the Cordoba have the smaller crank pin?

I've been very happy with my 35+21 MM engine in my MRX4x. Ran very strong at Nationals it was just a little "Thirsty"
Any thoughts on how to get the millage up?
I'm running Byron 25% with an additional shim, Novarossi 2015 pipe, med concical header. I did find being less agressive on the throtle helped, and I understand that the tank is a little small in the Mugen.
Thanks for the help.

No small crank pin on the Cordoba - Only the 359 has the small one (which gave me no issues over 5 gallons btw.)

Gentlemen,
most of the fast guys in our series run the Max XL9TQ. I would rather like to run a Murnan Nova - So which one is on the same level? Has anyone had a change to compare a Murnan vs. that Max engine?
Thanks a lot, Stefan
