As promissed, I'll let you know how this is going.
I finally managed to drill an old Mega ZX21 crankshaft.
I had a hard time finding the proper carbide bit (on the other side of the Atlantic getting a carbide bit is a pain in the $ss) but I eventually managed to do it. I worked out pretty good.
After drilling and cleaning the crankshaft I tried to fill the hole with high temp RTV silicone (I'm using high temp silicone from Wurth - used in 1/1 engine gaskets) but I had a hard time making it smooth. It just doesn't look like the ones from the engine manufacturers.
Maybe you guys (Grinder, TheDoctor and nitrodude) can share your tips on how to insert the silicone and making it smooth?
