Thumbs up

A couple test and tunes in on my Murnan Modified Novarossi CLIO P5 and I'm beyond impressed. I'm getting 11:20 on a tank and have more power than any other motor on the track. The CLIO has tons of bottom end that is smoothly transferred to the ground and winds up higher than any 5port I've seen.

My setup right now is... CLIO P5 with C6TGC, 41019C header and the 2096 super strong pipe. 11:20 on a GT with this set up. For the most power at the cost of a little run time go with C8TGT, 41019C and the 9886 Super Strong. I'm using primarily the 6.5 insert in my current conditions with the ROAR limitation at 7.

Give it a shot guys this motor has so much potential for GT, buggy and Truggy!

Uriah is the man with the magic!

I had a massive scare today. Wouldn't idle wouldn't hold a tune, I thought it was fubar. Turner out the manifold to engine gasket was torn to hell and leaking BAD.

A lot of people give me a hard time about how clean I keep my cars... Your situation is exactly why I do it. Pretty easy to say hey where did that puddle of fuel come from Lol. Keep fresh gaskets and fresh fuel line and your motors will love you. You have to do something pretty significant to cause problems with the Novas but they are possible. Remember if something doesn't seem right pull her over and have a look. The more you love your motors the more they will love you back.

Couldn't agree more. Always stop the car if anything starts to feel wrong because continuing to run even one lap more could be enough to toast the engine. Checking the gasket and fuel lines are my number 1 check after a run. Fuel/oil on the chassis is a sure sign something isn't quite sealed up right.

Uriah I sent you a message on facebook.

I totally agree with you guys on the cleaning. U guys use soap and water then heat gun the engine or drench the parts in gasoline to clean?

Motor spray/brake cleaner and a stiff brush usually to clean the outside. Making sure to seal up the carb, exhaust and fuel inlet nipple with the supplied Novarossi blanks. Don't spray directly at front bearing!

Denatured alcohol to clean inside and out.
Then marvel mystery before I close it up.

Of course but that wasn't what you asked! I don't strip the motor down totally
Just remove and inspect the rear and button. I'll do a complete strip when I change the rod which is about every gallon or gallon and a half. My engines have always ran better when left undisturbed inside to a point.

I usually change the rod in a new engine after the first gallon post break in. Then at about 2-3 gallons depending on what the wear feels like on the rod at TDC with the plug out. So yeah yours is probably about due for a strip and look how she's been running.

Use your own judgment here if you are comfortable working inside a motor its good to check it out. If you aren't just leave her be and tune well. You don't "have" to change the rod but a lot of us like to due to the investment we have with time and money. I have motors with gallons on them that I have never opened up and still run like a top.
