If the engine is blowing lots of smoke when that happens, you need to lean the engine. If it revs really high with no smoke, you should richen the engine.

Thanks, Uriah

I had my Murnan 35 plus 21 running at 282 the weekend and it seemed ok, what can you push these motors to run? Ran a #6 plug and .7mm head clearence. I would like to run it hotter and redce the cearence to .6 maybe with an 8 plug. Is 330 to hot?

Grinder,

Picked mine up from NeXus Racing this weekend .... couple of question

1) What Brand fuel do you recommend?
2) What break-in method?
3) Do you have the Novarossi 2630 in stock?
4) Do you have the medium header in stock?

thanks for all your time ...

Default mt12

Hey grinder. Ive got a mugen mt 12, it has been broken in almost. About 5 tanks through it before my racing season ended. It was properly stored, and after inspection is free of any corrosion and still has enough pinch to keep me from turning the crankshaft past tdc.
My question for you is, I read here that you will only work on new or nearly new engines. Does my mt12 fall into this category. Furthermore, would you do work on a motor that is no longer in production.
Thanks in advance.

Hi. You can push the engines to higher temps than 280. The most important thing to check is the combustion chamber. As long as there is still some oil you will be OK. Make sure after the run, without letting the engine run out of fuel the glowplug does not look dry. A dry glowplug means you are too lean.

You should only run the Novarossi C7TGF in that engine. You will see much better performance, and cooler temps than the 6 you are running now.

Leave the clearance where it was stock.

Hi. I recommend Rocket Science fuel. I have also tried some other good fuels like J-Tech fuel. If these are not readily available the Byrons Gen 2 is a good alternative.

I have a couple of break in methods that we use with success listed on my website. http://murnanmodified.com/breakin.php

I am out of the 2630 for another week or so.

I do have the medium headers in stock.

Hi. That engine should fall into that category. Send it in, and I will let you know. It has been a few years since I modified one of those. Should be fun.

Thank you Grinder for the info, I found your motor very easy to tune and predictable which was a pleasure when you running a Nat. I will leave the clearence at .7 and change the plug. The motor seemed to like a richer bottom with the 2052 pipe. What temp did you find best for these motors? I am running Klotz oils 6% Techniplate and 5% Benol degumbed castor.

All the best!!!!

Does anyone have any experience with the Murnan Modified
Ninja MR21 R01A on-road engine? What are the mods based on.
Is it for power, speed,or fuel economy??Any thoughts or comments are welcomed.

If Murnan himself would explain it,I would be honored..
