hey uriah how are you doing i was wondering if you could help me out with some info on these clutchs. I just brought the evo 2 wc and it comes with the 2d clutch but i have heard alot of people talk badly about in how it has no bottomend compared to the stock 3d clutch. What i would like to know is what clutch would you recommend for max performance the sirio power clutch or the capricorn clutch. And (p.s) i didnt think these motors could get much faster but you have done it again you must have magic in your hands i have seen you m353r run and all i have to say is that it is the fastest .12 motor on the market bar none!!!!!! and that was with it running on 16% fuel i could only imagine what it would be like on 25% like i run. You will be recieveing a call soon i need one of those motors ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default 2009 Winternats Race Report

Hi guys you can check out my race report at the following link.

http://www.murnanmodified.com/newsde...604db7f524a458

The new M353R engines are awesome. They are super fast, reliable, and easy to tune. I must say that this engine made up for some not so perfect driving from me during the week. I was able to turn some 12.8 second laps during qualifying, and in practice even faster. Now I just need to work on that driving line.

Speaking with Vincent Jackson, he said he never pulled full throttle during his A main qualifying run, and he was able to run almost 25 laps on fuel. Now that's an awesome combination of power, and runtime.

Congratulations to all my team drivers who went to Winternats. You all did a good job.

Thanks to the Ft. Myers crew for making the great traction this year. It sure helped lay down the power. They run a pretty smooth race program too.

Congratulations to the winners DJ Appolaro in sedan, and Paolo Morganti in 8th scale, and Maxy in masters 8th scale. They sure know how to get it done at team Serpent! A clean sweep for the team.

Thanks to my pit crew Bobby, and Chay for staying an extra day. I met a lot of new friends this year, and I am already looking forward to next year.

Murnan,
On you site it states for the M353R Modified:

"The engine comes shimmed for 16-20% Nitro. To run 25-30% please add .2mm of head shims. Very long life can be expected from this engine even when pushed to it's limits. Recommended pipes: Novarossi 2630 Novarossi 2601 RB 2604"

1) What's the differences in running 16-20% as to 25-30%?
2) What's the differences in running the three recommended pipes?

Thanks ....

As for thhe 2D clutch it has similiar setting's that would apply to the Sirio or Capricron clutch.
I felt using the 4 weights makes it more aggressive than using 2 weights the only benefit i felt with 2 weights slighlty more run time & quicker spool I used the capricorn spring on the 2D but felt with the 4 weights more to suitable to my driving & more aggressive try a .5 gap & barely any endplay crank the spring done to 1.2 if your using the stock spring .6-.9

The difference in running 30% vs 16% is you will get more power using higher nitro. The engines can handle the higher nitro, and they are much faster. The engines come shimmed for 16% because most people from around the world use 16%, and it is required at the worlds. I use 16% because it gives better runtimes than the higher nitro, and still makes plenty of power.

The Novarossi 2630 will make more peak power than the 2601/2604 (The 2601, and 2604 are the same pipe with different company logos.) The 2601 will make better runtime than the 2630. Both pipes are very good.

Thanks for the info ... couple more questions:

1) Short, medium or long? I'm sure you tested and found the best one at the winternats for your M353R Modified.
2) I have a Max 2602, how would that compare to the other pipes?

Thanks again ...

I used the medium header with the RB2604 pipe, the 2602 is the same pipe. The medium header was perfect for Ft. Myers track.

I think I will use the short header in Kissimmee this weekend. The short header will make the most peak power, but it will do it pretty high in the rpm range. The long header makes less peak power, but makes it's peak earlier in the rpm range.
