thanks gentleman!

another advice... change the bearings when recommended!... My JL3 is dead today.. due to a little ball bearing going ping pong inside the engine and probably out of the exhaust.. because I didn't find it

I'm still happy though.. i pushed that little engine for over 5 gallons...
my only gripe... i should not have changed the conrod only.. because it only took around 2 litres before the bearings failed!

Is a JL .12 generally considered "too much" for a NTC3?

I have been considering one for my NTC3 that I race but don't know if I would just start having diff problems.

Any reasonable comments welcome. As you can tell from my sig, I like Picco engines.

it should be fine but i don't know what pipe you should use, there's not a lot to chose from and could lose performance.the down fall is tuning the clutch you have to take the engine out to tune it,which you know that

Thanks for the feedback. I think the ONLY two pipes that fit the NTC3 with a rear exhaust engine are the AE dual chamber and the RD Logics Turbo and I have both.

Ya, I know that part sucks. I'm aware that it's a fairly low tech chassis compared to the current belt drive cars but I don't race at a level that warrants that much investment for now.

Default pipe recomendation

Now i know the 2607 is the ideal match but the only place i can find it in stock is at Nitrohouse and I'm not paying $160 for it. i know the 2617 pipe is also sometimes recommended but again i can't find it anywhere. again I know the skyline pipes are also highly regarded but they don't seem to be making them anymore and also seem impossible to find. so with that aside what is a good value for a pipe that will rob me of the least amount of power. or... can anyone help me find one of these.
thanks, Mike

I will have the 2617 in a few days for less than anybody can sell it at.

Lee has the 2607 and 2617 complete pipesets in stock. Much less than $160.

Another option is the LRP 2644, which is identical with the IDM 2617.

Max 2602 also works pretty good on the Picco engines.

The Max 2602 works good with Picco engines??? Have you tested it yourself or has anyone by that matter? Hows the power compared to the 2607 and 2617?

hey thanks for all the replies. Nice to know about winnerscircle they seem to be pretty well priced. Hey Sam let me know when you get the 2617 in stock. Also if you don't mind me asking, is there any reason why you're getting the 2617 in and not any more of the 2607?

Lee (Winners Circle) has fair pricing, a great attitude and just overall a pleasure to do business with. Ashford Hobby is also like that, but Ashford just doesn't happen to have the pipe in stock right now.

Very easy to tune 5 tanks and it ready to race, lean the top first....
