I was running the Spec II last weekend in a race. I was really impressed with it performance, I was running it with the OS 1040 pipe and the temp is approx 90-100 degC and it have no problem running against the 5 ports TZ, Sirio STi, JP, Falcon, Ninja, Ninja MRT...etc

How is your mileage? My Spec I is making around 5 minutes per tank in a high speed track, the Nova guys something around 5 high or 6

With my Spec I, I used the standard method of breaking in the engine... That was about 1 year ago and the engine is still running very strong...

i reckon that following the OS manual for break in is the best. keke. but make sure u heat up the engine with heat gun/hair dryer 1st.

Yup... It's better you pre-heat the engine before doing the break-in process. Also, you can put a few drops of after run oil just before the break-in process. It helps lubricate the engine internals as compared to running it completely dry before the fuel gets in the combustion chamber...

Hi Esham,

Nice to know that you are still racing 1/10, I have taken a break from 1/10 for 18 months, will be racing a little of 1/10 this year.

Hi Doki,

I was running OS7 that come with the engine. Btw I break in with WOT for approx 3-4 tanks and run it on a track rich for another 5 tanks and race tuned it on race day. I have tried a couple of pipes (skyline, Miekle, RD logic) but I just find the 1040 suits the engine best.

Runtime for my spec II is approx 5 mins in a very big track (average lap is about 20-21 sec)

I see... I also tried using the Nova 2630 pipe on the OSSpeed TZ Spec I... It ran great also but the OSSpeed 1040 pipe works best... Also with the Nova 2630 pipe, you need to get a bigger rear exhaust gasket to prevent airleaks...

No need to add shims... It's already shimmed to handle 30% nitro...
