Recently purchased the spec II motor and I'm looking for a pipe/manifold recomendation.

Thoughts on the O.S. T-1040SC L52 Complete Set?

Thanks on advance,

John

The 1040 is a good pipe setup. Good fuel mileage and excellent power. The only downside is the lug for the setscrew on the end. The threads strip easily if you try to tighten it down too much. I usually run red loctite and just snug the setscrew down. I then put a collar on the end of the pipe hanger for extra insurance.

Great information, thanks. The collar looks like a good fix

1040 on the way

Horizon,

Rear - 12x21x5
Front - 7x17x5

The Speed version comes with a ceramic rear bearing factory.

The spec II has the top end that was missing from the spec I. It also has more all around power and better mileage too. With the new crank in the spec II it revs much easier also.

Hello from France,

and now, the SpecII is available with the aluminium head unstead of the magnesium one. The price is falling down...

Au revoir.

judging by the results at the recent JMRCA 1/10th 200mm race the new OS looks competitive to say the least!

guys.. I have a complete SpecI and going to buy a SpecII which has a broken conrod and piston and liner is bad.. Do you have any idea if SpecI and SpecII have the same piston/liner and crankcase??

If so then I'll be able to put together a SpecII if crankcases are identical..

Also anyone know base settings for SpecI and SpecII?

Thanks in advance..

Asil,

Crankcase is fine. Piston and sleeve is different along with the crankshaft.

Settings:
high speed 3 turns out
low speed flush
