I havent seen a LRP in action yet. But it seems to be a good Picco based engine. I'd suggest the OS TZ which is just around the price range of these two engines you have mentioned. Plus the availability and price of the engine parts is awesome...

The lrp 12, if you are lookin for a rev motor, the lrp revs as much as the picco mega,an also it is a picco based eng. I,ve had this eng an boy it loves to rev.i mean rev.Plus it around 200 bucks.

Try to get the TZ overseas then... I usually pay $185 for mine shipped (www.rc-toro.com). But someone mentioned they even got a cheaper price at rc-champ.co.jp... Hope this helps.

On another note, some people consider STS engines to be lottery tickets, one in a million comes out good. So between those to, go with the LRP.
