Also, gearing wise for everyone out there: If you try one of these motors you really need to adjust the GEARING!!!
I ran today down in Toledo where I have a ton of laps. The engine was working well but seemed a bit off of what it could be. I dropped the gear and the engine was soooo much better!!! It was like I dropped in a new motor. Everyone remember, this engine likes to REV so be careful to not hand too much gear on it.
Gearing for past engines @ Toledo:
17 / 23 Pinion
61 / 56 Spur
Gearing for Wasp REV @ Toledo:
16 / 22 Pinion
59 / 56 Spur
Keep this in mind when you hit your home tracks to test out the engine!!
I second that!!
I ran some more today @ Crystal Park and found the same to be true.
I might add also:
Run your clutch a little tighter than you would normally too. This helps the engine come into the 'sweet spot' much easier without any hesitation.
My normal clutch spring setting
Kyosho red 1/8 spring @ 2.0mm preload
My Wasp clutch setting
Kyosho red 1/8 spring @ 2.20mm preload
I am running similar gearing as Josh
16/22 pinion 59/55 spur
This is with 60mm rear tires and 58mm front tires
