I have used several Rossi engines in the past, and was excited to see a new importer & new engines. I tried the LS1. VERY disapointed. Worst quality machining I have seen, very low-tech design of piston/sleave etc., Poor fit of all components, if that weren't enough, the engine has NO power!

I ran the engine... It has less power than ANY 21 on-road engine I have tried & that is quite a few.

Okay, looks like this is not the engine for club racing.

The problem with most Rossi engines is that they will not start once they are hot. Friend of mine has lost many races because his engine shuts down during the main and I cannot get it started by any means.

Are Rossi motors suppose to use their own gold plugs like the mega motors in order to maximize it's performance?

That's strange...in our group, there's at least about a dozen Maranello's, and not a problem. We run 'em hard, and when we get hardcore, we'll dump 60% boat fuel in 'em, and they run like a scalded dog. They REALLY respond well to tuning, also. We mostly run 'em in HPI Racer 2 and Super Nitro chassis' with .21 conversions, and 37T/26T gearing for top-speed runs.

Only complaint we really have, is the Rossi carbs are finicky as hell.

I'm trying to breakin this motor when the wheather is right so anyone has any comments on breaking in this engine?? Checked the carb setting straight out from the box is 3 1/2 turn out for top needle and 2 1/2 turn out for the low end. Is this the factory setting??

Thanks,
